As well as bringing peace and tranquillity to any interior situation Rhapis excelsa, also known as Lady Palm and Kannonchiku in Japan can be said to be the perfect house plant. Ease of maintenance, resistance to pests and diseases also the ability of the plant to increase humidity and remove toxins from the air. Research into this has been carried out by the noted scientist Dr. B. C. Wolverton while working on the NASA project to create a breathable environment for a NASA lunar habitat. |
